Object Writing: Month

It began like a cool breeze, teasing at the edges of a summer day. Lightly tickling your arm and dusting past your legs to pull at the crumpled sweaters forgotten over Christmas. A brief ricochet interrupts the morning calls of the currawong, a sneeze followed by silent "bless you". The silence is held like a pause, a caught breath awaiting a conductors raised wand, the anticipation felt in the shuffle of the leaves. Then a single chirp, alert and sweet dips through the air and expels the silence like a horn through fog and soon joined by a battalion of birds swooping and calling out their friendly gossip.
Steam rises above the kettle with a rumble and chiming bell to greet a teabag dutifully draped over a small mug with a sprinkle of sugar. Alas it awaits, forgotten, watching on as a mother entices her childs laughter into the chorus of the morning. A carefree giggle followed by a thundering of steps as a chase ensues around the dining table...

Today's object writing was interrupted by a curious black jumping spider with interesting white pincers. They were certainly curious about the jaggerred clattering that must have interrupted their sleep. If ever a spider looked cheerful, that would be the one. Must be a morning spider.
I was going to continue at the end to try and focus on those brief gasps you feel when a child's head almost collides with every corner of a table and miraculously misses each time, but couldn't think of anything succinct enough and ran out of time.
On re-reading, I think I would change the word morning "..laughter into the chorus of the morning." into day because I feel it makes more of a progression.
All in all, I really like it. The word "month" spawned the idea of coming months of autumn and winter while we're still chasing off the heat of summer so I tried to embrace that moment and quickly got swept away in flurry of a single morning.
