Soft billowing pools of white curtain cross the sky, undulating before an autumn sun peaking glimpses of light through my front windows. They drip kisses of shade into an endless summer with sparing hints of the winter to come. The light dances like glitter off wetted leaf and frosted grass where woven paths are drawn with footsteps, raking water into their padded interiors to a soon to be sodden sock. On it treads, with a light squelch warmed only enough to be ignored until artificial cooling turns alchemist and the woolen sock becomes dry ice against your toes. Always running out of time. I think I'll just get used to that. Lots of pretty images today with the idea of a cloud as I was trying to play with words that didn't feel as natural to put with the noun, so "drip kisses of shade", "billowing pools of white curtain across the sky... undulating", "sparing hints", "woven paths are drawn with footsteps raking water", "artificial cooling turns alchemist" and my favourite "cacophonous rumble of water in the kitchen". That last one is because I keep saying kettle so this was my solution to avoiding that.
I think today I let it feel a little more bizarre and dream-like with the language. Maybe I'll push it further tomorrow, who knows!
